What we researched for this specific generation: where an enclosure actually fits, what the factory speakers are, how the factory audio is wired, and which real builds and commercial products exist for it. Confidence badges say how well each figure is sourced — this is research, not manufacturer spec.
Body styles covered: 4-Door Sedan
These are researched envelopes, not a guarantee. Measure your own vehicle — the numbers here tell you what to expect, not what you have.
| Location | trunk |
|---|---|
| Outer bounding box | No independently measured trunk dimensions found. Published box footprints are lower bounds on the cavity, not the cavity: Audio Design SCG 'Acura TL Subwoofer Box 2009-2015 (Super Custom!)': 25 x 16 x 16 in (as printed; axes not labelled), 0.4-1.0 cu ft, trunk rear sides, woofers up to 5.5 in deep. Zenclosures prints no outside dimensions (volume 0.61 ft^3 per sub sealed / 1.22 ft^3 ported, mounting depth 6.75 in). |
| Known obstructions | SH-AWD rear differential reduces the trunk (12.5 vs 13.1 cu ft, Acura). A factory 8-inch subwoofer sits in the center of the rear parcel shelf (Acura 2009). |
Sizes and depths below are what research turned up for this generation. Confirm against your own vehicle before cutting or ordering — trim levels vary.
| Factory speaker size | 6.7-inch mid-range speaker in each front door (Acura 2009 interior page; the ELS system calls them "6.7-inch SDR drivers"). 2009 model year only; later kits name the systems without sizes. |
|---|---|
| Adapter bracket needed | unconfirmed |
| Tweeter | A-pillar, one each side: Acura 2009 says "1.5-inch titanium-dome tweeters" on the ELS system and a "soft-dome tweeter" (size not stated) on the standard 8-speaker system. |
| Factory speaker size | ELS system only: two 3-inch SDR drivers "in the rear door" (Acura 2009). The standard system has no rear-door speaker in the page read. |
|---|---|
| Adapter bracket needed | unconfirmed |
| Tweeter | n/a — Acura's 2009 speaker list puts every tweeter in the A-pillars. The ELS system's rear doors hold two 3-inch drivers; the standard 8-speaker system has no rear-door speaker. |
| Factory amp / premium audio | Acura: standard 276-watt, 8-speaker system with 6-disc changer and an 8-inch subwoofer; Technology Package Acura/ELS Surround, 10 speakers, 440 watts (the 2010 kit also prints 410 watts), DVD-Audio and DTS, hard disk drive storage. Acura's 2009 page puts an 8-inch subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf on both systems, so a factory sub is present whichever system the car has. |
|---|---|
| Adding subs without a head-unit swap | no integration information read |
Acura: 13.1 cu ft trunk, 12.5 on the SH-AWD because of the rear differential (2009, 2010, 2011 pages). A luggage rating, not box dimensions. No measured width, height or depth was found. Both Zenclosures boxes install through the trunk opening and are designed for the AWD car (mounting depth 6.75 in); Audio Design SCG builds phantom-fit boxes for the trunk rear sides.

Measure your own vehicle. Trim levels, factory subwoofer options, and mid-generation changes all move these numbers, and a box cut to a researched figure that does not match your truck is wasted wood. Where a badge reads Unconfirmed, treat the value as a starting point for your own measurement, not as an answer.
