Factory audio integration

Factory amp / premium audiooptional-on-some-trims — Bose. 6 speakers on base and mid trims, 9 speakers on premium trims (Leather Group, Premium Group). Factory amp rated 250W. REAL, SPECIFIC, GENUINELY USEFUL AMP LOCATION: the amp is in the trunk on the passenger side, behind the carpet, MOUNTED TO THE INSIDE OF THE FENDER. Access procedure as reported: pull the plastic push clips on that side, take the cargo-net hanger off, then peel the carpet back far enough to expose it. This is a fender-wall mount, not a floor or false-wall mount — different from the Regal's behind-the-false-wall silver box and different again from the LaCrosse's disputed location. Verify before mounting anything against the passenger-side trunk wall.
Adding subs without a head-unit swapYes. On Bose cars use a speaker-level-to-line-level converter rather than a conventional RCA line output converter — GM Bose amplifiers take speaker-level input, and tapping between head unit and Bose amp degrades the signal; tap at the rear deck speakers instead and mount the aftermarket amp in the trunk near them. On base 6-speaker cars a standard LOC at the rear speaker wiring is sufficient. 14.3 cu ft SAE on cars WITHOUT the Bose system; 14.0 cu ft on cars WITH it. That 0.3 cu ft delta is documented rather than inferred, and it is the clearest signal in this entry that the Bose amp physically occupies trunk volume — see audio_integration for its confirmed mounting position on the inside of the passenger-side fender. No eAssist/hybrid variant on this model, so unlike the LaCrosse and Regal siblings there is no second trunk configuration to worry about.
