Optional Monsoon premium system: 8 speakers total (double the base Delco's 4), with a physically confirmed amplifier location — mounted behind the spare tire, identifiable by a distinctive ~100-wire connector. GENUINE INTEGRATION HAZARD, consistent with our already-established GM Monsoon finding on other vehicles: Monsoon speakers are ACTIVELY AMPLIFIED, not passively wired like the base Delco system — meaning a correctly-sized aftermarket speaker can mount and play but only reproduce part of the intended band, the same pre-crossover behavior already confirmed on the Pontiac Grand Prix, G6, and Firebird pages. Treat any Monsoon-equipped car with the same caution as those, not as a simple speaker swap.
