Factory audio integration

Factory amp / premium audioTHE HEAD UNIT CANNOT BE REPLACED, and that is the defining fact about this car. The source puts it bluntly: removing and replacing the stock stereo just is not going to happen. What looks like a receiver is a DISPLAY/CONTROL MODULE wired to a separate TUNER MODULE under the passenger's side footwell. The only route to a new screen is a DIRECT REPLACEMENT package, which drops an 8" replacement screen into the same spot with no cutting or modification. SYSTEMS: the coupe came with a 9-speaker Bose system or a 10-speaker Bose CENTERPOINT system that adds the subwoofer. The convertible had base and Bose systems too, but its rear speaker and subwoofer layout is NOT documented. Dash and door details are identical across both body styles.

That is the second vehicle whose cargo envelope depends on where a removable roof panel lives, after the Pontiac Firebird's T-tops. Crutchfield's own read is that the space is limited enough that a powered subwoofer may be the right answer here. No figures are published for the convertible.
