What we researched for this specific generation: where an enclosure actually fits, what the factory speakers are, how the factory audio is wired, and which real builds and commercial products exist for it. Confidence badges say how well each figure is sourced — this is research, not manufacturer spec.
Body styles covered: Minivan
These are researched envelopes, not a guarantee. Measure your own vehicle — the numbers here tell you what to expect, not what you have.
| Location | under front seats (both driver and passenger) — a different location entirely from truck/SUV underseat cavities, since this is a front-seat rather than rear-seat space |
|---|---|
| Outer bounding box | Not independently confirmed as a standalone measurement — inferred lower bound from the real 10" Rockford Fosgate reference build already in this entry and the confirmed ~1" seat-raise requirement |
| Known obstructions | Seat cushion clearance is the binding constraint (real ~1" seat-lift requirement documented) rather than a hard structural obstruction |
| Usable volume estimate | 0.7 ft³ |
Suggested configurations for this vehicle, not prescriptions. Run the numbers in the Box Builder before you buy anything.
| Subwoofers | 1x8" factory-location replacement |
|---|---|
| Box type | sealed |
| Location | factory location via rear side panel, zero cargo/seating impact |
| Subwoofers | 2x10", one under each front seat |
|---|---|
| Box type | sealed |
| Location | under both front seats, installed from the seat's front edge — may need ~1" seat lift |
Sizes and depths below are what research turned up for this generation. Confirm against your own vehicle before cutting or ordering — trim levels vary.
| Factory speaker size | 6x9" (all trims — base 4-ohm, premium 2-ohm) |
|---|---|
| Known obstructions | None specifically documented |
| Adapter bracket needed | unconfirmed |
| Midrange | n/a — 6x9" full-range door speaker, no separate midrange |
| Factory speaker size | 6x9" — mounted on the mid-rear side panels, not a traditional door location |
|---|---|
| Known obstructions | Cavity space is tight — Crutchfield recommends smaller 5.25"/6.5" replacements with a mounting bracket rather than a same-size 6x9" swap |
| Adapter bracket needed | yes |
| Factory amp / premium audio | 10-speaker premium sound system trims confirmed to include a factory subwoofer + amp |
|---|---|
| Adding subs without a head-unit swap | Confirmed straightforward — under-seat and factory-location paths both avoid the head unit entirely |
| Head unit | No replacement needed |
Genuinely different build philosophy than trucks/SUVs/cars — minivan owners prioritize preserving cargo/seating flexibility above all else, and real builds reflect that. 10-speaker premium trims have a factory sub+amp already; an aftermarket 8" fits the same opening (reached by removing the rear side panel). Real dual-sub approach: one 10" under the passenger seat, one under the driver seat, installed from the FRONT of the seat rather than the back — a specific, non-obvious installation direction worth keeping. A 10" Rockford Fosgate fits under the front passenger seat but may need the seat raised ~1" to clear the cushion.

Measure your own vehicle. Trim levels, factory subwoofer options, and mid-generation changes all move these numbers, and a box cut to a researched figure that does not match your truck is wasted wood. Where a badge reads Unconfirmed, treat the value as a starting point for your own measurement, not as an answer.
