| Factory amp / premium audio | Base radio with either a 4- or 6-speaker system, an optional 8" LCD radio, and at the top the SONY surround-sound system. The Sony tier is substantial: a 3-1/2" centre dash speaker, front-door component sets (6-3/4" woofers plus 1.608" tweeters), and in the rear deck a 3-1/2" speaker alongside A PAIR OF 6"x9" SUBWOOFERS. IMPEDANCE IS SPLIT WITHIN THE SONY SYSTEM: the 3-1/2" is an 8-ohm speaker while the 6"x9" subs run roughly 2 ohms — so there is no single 'right' impedance for this car, it depends which location you're replacing. Crutchfield's own recommendation for getting real performance out of new speakers on a Sony car is to REPLACE THE STOCK AMPLIFIER.
