Hatchbacks can take bigger/taller enclosures than a sedan trunk for real architectural reasons (no trunk-lid opening constraint, full vertical hatch swing, flat load floor), though the SPECIFIC commercial products found so far show similar footprint numbers to the sedan (8" depth from mounting ring, 18"L, 16"H, 1.00 ft3 for a 12" sealed) — being honest that didn't surface a dramatically larger confirmed volume, even though the body style genuinely does open up more real options (both driver AND passenger side custom fiberglass builds exist, which isn't as common on sedans). Max width ~40" to clear the trunk-carpet space and allow the box to be inserted/removed through the opening.
