Real documented custom build: 24x24x6" (6.5" with mounting legs), 1.318 ft3 raw, brought to the recommended 1.5 ft3 with polyfill — real ~7" of clearance available in the cargo area to work with. A professional installer specifically used a Polk MM1540, a 4.5"-shallow-mount 15" driver, to fit the low-clearance space while still running a genuinely large 15" cone. REAL MATERIAL LESSON, worth keeping as a general build-quality note: an initial build using 1/2" MDF to save space had too much panel flex and poor resulting sound quality — proper (3/4") material thickness matters for structural rigidity and acoustic performance, not just fitting the space.
