An earlier (2026-07-22) read of Bose's CX-30 page described the Bose upgrade adding a third subwoofer in the spare-tire well that replaces the metal rack the spare normally rests on. UNCONFIRMED (2026-10-02): Bose's current page says only "12 high-performance speakers and BassMatch", with no subwoofer, spare-tire or rack sentence, and Mazda's 2025 spec deck lists a T135/80D17 temporary spare as standard on every trim, Bose included. A sub in the well and a compact spare can coexist; the "replaces the rack" claim is the part no current source supports — similar in spirit to our other 'zero visible impact' SUV finds (Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester 4th Gen) but factory-installed rather than aftermarket. Distinctive front-stage design also confirmed: the base system already runs front-firing 'subwoofers' in resonance boxes ahead of the doors — the same front-loaded-bass architecture pattern this guide has also found on the related CX-50 and on Volvo's B&W systems, worth treating as a recurring cross-brand pattern rather than a one-off.
