What we researched for this specific generation: where an enclosure actually fits, what the factory speakers are, how the factory audio is wired, and which real builds and commercial products exist for it. Confidence badges say how well each figure is sourced — this is research, not manufacturer spec.
Body styles covered: 4-Door Sedan
These are researched envelopes, not a guarantee. Measure your own vehicle — the numbers here tell you what to expect, not what you have.
| Location | trunk, through existing opening |
|---|---|
| Outer bounding box | No measured trunk dimensions found. Published box footprints are lower bounds on the cavity, not the cavity: Ground Shaker 'BLACK 10" SINGLE PORTED SUB BOX, FITS 01-26 TOYOTA CAMRY': Height 13 1/2", Length 29", Top Depth 13", Bottom Depth 17" (labelled by Ground Shaker), 2.33 FT^3, mounting depth 9", 'SLIDES UP AGAINST REAR SEAT'. Super Crew Sound / Zenclosures LE box: mounting depth 10.00", no outside dimensions printed. SE box: mounting depth 7.25", no outside dimensions printed. Sound Off Audio dual box: mounting depth 7 inches, no outside dimensions printed. All listed for 2002-2011 or wider. |
| Known obstructions | LE box: 'the foam piece under the carpet at the back seat will need to be removed' (maker). The LE box 'Does not fit the Camry SE' and, on the single-sub page, 'does not fit the SE model or hybrid' (maker). |
Sizes and depths below are what research turned up for this generation. Confirm against your own vehicle before cutting or ordering — trim levels vary.
| Factory speaker size | Toyota brochure gives speaker counts (6 or JBL 8), not sizes or locations |
|---|---|
| Adapter bracket needed | unconfirmed |
| Adapter bracket needed | unconfirmed |
|---|
| Factory amp / premium audio | Toyota 2006 brochure ('06 Camry), model-year 2006 only: 'Deluxe AM/FM/CD Audio w/6 Speakers' is standard on the base Camry, LE and SE cars (printed '-' for the XLE column; the XLE V6 column prints S, an apparent inconsistency in the table). 'JBL AM/FM/Cassette/6 Disc CD Changer w/8 Speakers & Satellite Capability' is standard on XLE and XLE V6, part of a package on LE, SE, SE V6 and LE V6, and not offered ('-') on the two base cars. No wattage, no speaker sizes, no subwoofer or amp location printed for 2002-2005. |
|---|---|
| Adding subs without a head-unit swap | no source found for the JBL system. For the non-JBL system TacoTunes sells a plug-and-play add-a-subwoofer harness listed for 2002-2017 Camry. |
Toyota's 2006 brochure prints 'Luggage capacity, rear seatbacks up' as 16.7 cu ft for every sedan trim (unlabelled by Toyota; EPA's own record is 17 for 2002, 2004 and 2006). A luggage rating, not a box volume. Makers' install notes: the LE box needs the foam piece under the carpet at the back seat removed; the SE box goes through the trunk opening and slides under the rear dash. No measured trunk dimensions were found. Every box below is listed by its maker for 2002-2011 or wider (Sound Off Audio 2002-2013, Ground Shaker 01-26), so each also covers the 2007-2011 Camry and none is listed for the 2002-2006 car alone.

Measure your own vehicle. Trim levels, factory subwoofer options, and mid-generation changes all move these numbers, and a box cut to a researched figure that does not match your truck is wasted wood. Where a badge reads Unconfirmed, treat the value as a starting point for your own measurement, not as an answer.
